Barnawapara Sanctuary - is about 85 km from Raipur airport. It is located in the northern part of Mahasamund district of Chattisgarh. This sanctuary is full of lush green vegetation comprises of beautiful forest flora. This wildlife sanctuary chiefly comprises of Teak, Sal, and Bamboo; while among fauna you can see tigers, sloth bear, flying squirrels, jackals, four-horned antelopes, leopards, chinkara, black buck, jungle cat, barking deer, porcupine, monkey, bison, striped hyena, wild dogs, to name a few. Different types of birds are there among them Parrots, Bulbul, Peafowl, Woodpeckers, Egrets, Herons, White Rumped Vultures, Lesser Kestrels, Racket-tailed Drongos etc.
Udanti Sanctuary – is located in Raipur, this is a small but significant wildlife sanctuary. The Udanti Wildlife Sanctuary is famous for the endangered Wild Buffalo population. Other members of this wild sanctuary are four-horned antelopes, Tigers, Chital, Chinkara, Black buck, Sambhar, Nilgai, Jungle cat, Barking deer, Sloth bear, Gaur, Wild dog, Monkeys, Jackals, Porcupine, Striped Hyena, Fox, Cobra, Python etc.
Bhoramdeo Sanctuary - is located in the Kabirdham district at about a distance of 140 km from Raipur. This sanctuary is one of the eleven wildlife sanctuaries of Chattisgarh. This sanctuary is named after the famous Bhoramdeo temples, situated in the deep of the Maikal hills. Wild animals are also in this sanctuary, among them leopard, hyena, fox, bear, cheetal, wild buffalo, nilgai etc. The river Sakari which flows through the sanctuary is the source of drinking water for the wild animals.
Burha Talab - is the largest and oldest lake in the city. Its beauty is its nature. This lake is full of green wild trees and gardens, situated in the middle of the lake.
